Toffee Apple O's
6 toffee apples

Preparation and cooling time: 1 hour


6 Apples
6 lolly sticks
170g granulated sugar
120mls water
1 tsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp golden syrup
10g butter
100g Nature’s Path Organic O’s
Hundreds and thousands

  • Wash and dry apples and then insert lolly sticks into their stalk ends.
  • Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  • Place O’s in a shallow dish. Have the hundreds and thousands to hand.
  • Put rest of ingredients into a pot and gently heat to melt butter and mix with sugar.
  • Once completely mixed, turn up heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until mixture turns golden brown and syrupy. (Test to see if the toffee is ready by dropping a small amount into cold water. If toffee forms a hard ball it is ready.)
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few moments. Dip each apple into toffee mixture, making sure all areas of apple are covered. Rotate apple until it is thoroughly coated.
  • Shake over a sprinkling of hundreds and thousands.
  • Roll apples in the O’s.
  • Put each apple on the lined baking tray to set.
